I am an active member of Malindi Women Group which is also a member of Malindi Malaria and Mosquito Control Association (PUMMA). Dumping sites in our area have become a major problem since mosquitoes use plastic bags and bottles filled with rain water for breeding. In order to get rid of malaria and create income for our community, we started to collect the garbage, clean it and produce baskets and hats out of it, which we sell later.
