Why does malaria hits African countries so hard? What does malaria mean for the everyday life in Kenya? 13 young people from Kenya, Uganda, Italy, Poland, Spain and Germany have found answers and discover untold facts about the disease. The young filmmakers are winners in a film competition of Stop Malaria Now! In „Insight of malaria“ they met village elders, witchdoctors, families and nurses and found out how these people deal with malaria and how the disease affects their daily life. The findings were exciting, surprising and sometimes strange. Moreover, they want to pass a message to decision-makers in Europe: STOP MALARIA NOW!

Documentary "I stop Malaria"- success stories from Kenya
Malaria kills about one million people every year. Nevertheless, a huge progress has already been made. In 11 African countries the number of cases and deaths has decreased more than around 50%. Thereby everybody´s engagement counts. The documentary shows engaged people in Kenya fighting against malaria. With a theatrical group we are visiting villages to raise awareness about the disease and to inform people about the correct use of mosquito nets. With a family we find out how they generate income by cultivating Artemisia plant. Its ingredients are most effective in treating malaria.
