BREEDING SITES / ABANDONED POOL

Mosquitoes breed in stagnant waters such as ponds, abandoned swimming pools or dumping sites. The control of these waters and the mosquito larvae inside is therefore an essential part of malaria control.

Apart from using chemicals for treating the water, special bacteria or fish can be used to kill or eat the larvae and limit the mosquito population. Keeping the environment clean is another important measure to keep mosquitoes away from houses.
