Advocacy
What is advocacy?
You may call it advocacy, campaigning, activism, influencing, voice, lobbying, policy work, commitment, protest – but these words are drawn together by the theme of “change” and how people can achieve the change they want to see in the world.
Advocacy is arguing in favour of something, such as a cause, an idea or a policy. By advocating for an issue, individuals or groups seek to change the status quo towards a more desirable reality such as a malaria-free world.
This is why we do advocacy: we want to give the most vulnerable a voice, so that a malaria free world can be reality. And so can you! Find out more how you can advocate against malaria in our advocacy guide >>
One element of advocacy is lobbying which especially include the proactive approach to political decision-makers. We do this especially with events and by letters. Get informed about our events and read some of our lobby letters here:
Events

On 23 November 2011 we discussed with members of the Bundestag, politicians and representatives of civil society the "Strengthening of local health systems - a sustainable approach to fight malaria?"
Photo mosaic "Show your face against malaria" - handing over to the German Ministry
On 23 November 2011, we have handed over the photo mosaic with your supporter's photos to the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development in Berlin and thus required more commitment to a world without malaria.
More than 5,200 people have shown their face in the fight against malaria.
Mr. Pastors, CEO of action medeor and initiator of our campaign is handing over the mosaic to Mr. Hans-Jürgen Beerfeltz, Secretary of the Ministry.
