International Malaria Conference 2009
The International STOP MALARIA ORAIN! Congress 2009 will be held in Bilbao on 26 and 27 November 2009 and is organised by medicusmundi bizkaia, a member organization of Federation of Medicus Mundi Spain (FAMME).
During the conference, experts will provide an overview of the situation of malaria in the world, advances in the vaccine, effective treatments etc..
The participants will then discuss different topics and issues concerning malaria and the impacts of the poverty disease. Women and malaria will be an issue covered in one workshop as well the access to drugs and medical treatment.
As part of the campaign STOP MALARIA NOW!, the conference aims at providing a picture of the malaria situation worldwide, with a special emphasis on developing countries. With this international gathering, the South is given a voice. Strategies must be worked out for cooperation in and with the South aimed at eradicating malaria, with a special focus on Africa.
